I have had my TrackIR 4 with clip since Christmas and have so far hardly used it as I have the same problem as many others. When I start FSX, it responds fine for about 1min (and by the way looks like its gonna be great fun), then it starts to respond on the screen about 20secs after I move my head. It just gets worse and worse to the point that I cannot use it. I have all the correct dots on the unit and in the user set-up it appears to work perfectly. Is there an integration issue with FSX?
By the way, I have Kerio firewall and Nod32 Anti-virus installed, both of which I have quit whilst in FSX to no avail.
Another Slow Resonding TrackIR in FSX
Re: Another Slow Resonding TrackIR in FSX
Couple of things to try....
Remove the TrackIR software by doing the following:
a. Click "Start"
b. Click on the "Control Panel"
c. Click "Add/Remove Programs"
d. Find "TrackIR" and click "Change/Remove"
e. Once launched it will give the option to completely remove it.
f. Delete the NaturalPoint folder at the following location, C:\Program Files\NaturalPoint
g. Download and reinstall the software from the following location, http://media.naturalpoint.com/software/ ... .Final.exe
1 Delete the following file folder
C:\WINDOWS\WinSxS\x86_Microsoft.FlightSimulator.SimConnect_67c7c14424d61b5b_10.0.60905.0_x-ww_429211e9
2 Insert the FSX CD, and run the repair utility. Basically we are looking to reinstall the folder.
3 Hopefully this should remedy the issue.
Please let me know if this helps.

Re: Another Slow Resonding TrackIR in FSX
Thanks for the advice, I have tried that. At first everything looked like it was working better. It lasted for a good 5 mins before...it started doing the same again. I tried it with track clip pro and with vector both of which had the same result. I can't make my mind up if it is FSX itself or the TrackIR that is causing the pause. I have noticed it to be worse when I fly on non-FSX aircraft or if I pause FSX for any reason. I have also noticed with this driver that the software does try to catch up, and sometimes does if you hold still for a minute or so, but will give up again when it has recovered. Any more hints out there?
Re: Another Slow Resonding TrackIR in FSX
Really hope NaturalPoint gets to a definitive resolution for this...the FSX/IR4 video downloads look pretty exciting, but FSX is probably all I'd end up using it for so I can't buy till that works seamlessly.
Anyone out there (including naturalpoint folks) happening to read this that DON'T get lag in FSX?

Re: Another Slow Resonding TrackIR in FSX
I don't have an issue with lag, and FSX, at all.

What type of motherboard, and system chipset are you running?
Are you plugging in directly to the system, or are you using a hub?
Have you tried isolating the device on the USB ports?
Have you tried turn off any kind of power save feature for your USB ports?
In the "Device Manager" you can right click the "USB Hub"(s) that show and turn off the power saving feature that turn those ports off when idle. Sometimes that has an impact on the connectivity of the devices.

What OS?
Which version of FSX is installed?
Are you running any other add-on applications?
Do you have any firewall/antivirus software installed?
