No Device Detected
Been using the TrackIR4 for just under a week without issues. Today when I fired up the computer - no lights, no nuttin'. Software reports as 'no device detected'. Tried to use different usb ports - but none seem to recognize the unit at all.
Read through the posts here and tried the NPREGFIX, but no joy on that front either.
Help please.

Re: No Device Detected
Please send me the following information.....
What is the Serial # of the device?
It should be located on the end of the cable, near the USB plug, or on the underside of the device.
Could you send us a copy of the Setupapi.log file?
It should be located in the C:\Windows folder
Have you tried the device on another system?
Are you plugging in directly to the system, or are you using a hub?
Have you tried isolating the device on the USB ports?
Have you tried turn off any kind of power save feature for your USB ports?
In the "Device Manager" you can right click the "USB Hub"(s) that show and turn off the power saving feature that turn those ports off when idle. Sometimes that has an impact on the connectivity of the devices.
Could you attach a screen shot of your device manager, and tracking screen?
To make Print Screen work, you must save an image of what's displayed on-screen to the clipboard and then paste it into a document where it can be printed.
Windows Help: Print Screen
To do this, follow this procedure:
1. Maximize the window you'd like to capture.
2. To copy/capture the current window, hold down ALT + Print Scrn at the same time. To capture the entire screen, just press Print Scrn alone.
3. Open a new document in MS Paint, MS Word, MS Photo Editor, or Adobe PhotoShop.
4. Paste the screen shot by holding down CTRL and V at the same time.
5. Save the document as a .JPG or .JPEG file and send it in.

Re: No Device Detected
I woke up to the same problem today. I turned off the power saving feature of the USB Hub like Vincent said below and the Track IR now works again. Here is a quote from support's post:
"In the "Device Manager" you can right click the "USB Hub"(s) that show and turn off the power saving feature that turn those ports off when idle. Sometimes that has an impact on the connectivity of the devices."

Re: No Device Detected
Generally if it is happening on more than one system, it could be a hardware issue as well.

Re: No Device Detected
This is the exact same thing that has happened to me twice now and after trying everything including sending all info to support. I got a replacement after my intitial TIR4 stopped responding after a week. The replacement lasted about 7 months and then the exact same thing happened. I am currently awaiting my second replacement.
I wonder what is causing this for all these different people, it seems a very common issue from all the posts concerned.
Has anyone had a conflict whilst using the Nostromo N52 Game pad with the TIR4? as I know I recently created a new Nostromo profile a few days before my first replacement failed.

It isn't a very common issue, but does come up here, as this is where customers go when they are having issues.
