CFS£ and not picking up Track IR4

Post by 602RAF_Puff »

Hi, read earlier on in this foums someone else having issues with CFS3 not picking up the trackir, I have the same issue since changing to the new rig, all games except CFS3 see the unit. Has there been any more headway in solving this issue? If you need someone to test files etc out, that has this issue, I will put my name forward.

The only way to resolve the issue, that I have seen is to do a clean install.

I assume that this refers to CFS3? And one would have to do a clean install of WXP Pro to get TrackIr to work with CFS3 even though it works with other games already? It doesn't make any sense. Is there some setting in the game config.ini file that needs to be turned on? Surely there is an easier way than installing the OS all over again.

If have seen where there is a system setting gets changed, which no longer allows the TrackIR to work with CFS3, and no manual uninstall of CFS3, and/or the TrackIR software remedies the issue.

I seemed to have had the same problem. CFS3 would be detected as an TrackIr enhanced game and the blue led light would indicate on the unit. In the game however the TrackIr would not track my head movements regardless of internal or external view. I was not about to uninstall and then install WXP Pro just to get CFS3 to work. I opted to uninstall CFS3 and then removed any folders from the directory where I had it previously installed. I emptied the recycle bin and rebooted my compuer. I then proceeded to install CFS3. I then ran the game, the blue led indicated it was a TrackIr enhanced game and when in flight my head movements in all 6DOF were tracked and the TrackIr unit works flawlesslly.

Vincent,

Are we still in an "OS Reinstall" mode to get TrackIR4 working with CFS3?

I'm running that rascal, VISTA. Still do not get CFS3 to recognize the executable. Not merely an WinXP problem, eh?

I wonder if it would be possible in a future version of the software to introduce an OPTIONAL feature. It would be helpful, in these squirrely instances, to explicitly point the driver to a particular executable--rather than rely on an automatic recognition.

Best,

BTW. Do we know if TrackIR recognizes the CFS3-derivatives "Mediterranean Air War" or "Over Flanders Fields"?

I have had MAW, OFF running just fine with the TrackIR.

The issue with Vista is currently being worked on, and we hope to have a resolution shortly.......

Thanks, Vince. It will be great to get a solution for Vista. Something to look forward to...
