Flight Sim Noob

Post by Catch22 »

Hey guys,

I recently got the TrackIR4 and to break it in, I reinstalled by old Flight Simulator 2004. The only problem now is, I just remembered I'm a total NOOB and I don't know anything about flying in a simulation instead of a combat flight game.

The tutorials in FS9 are ok, but very boring and I could learn alot more from a real person.

If you have FS9 and like teaching or know someone who does, those who like to learn, please pm me or reply to this post.

Thanks.

PS: you can also contact me via Xfire. My Xfire handle is Katch.

I guess I'm not a "Total" noob, because I was able to complete the basic lessons easily.

Currently, I've completed all the student pilot lessons, and most of the private pilot. I so far, have not been able to complete the private pilot checkride and it's really starting to be frustrating. I guess I need to buy a rudder pedal controller, because if I try to use the joystick twist the plane tends to destabilize worse.

I thought it was possible to have somebody observe you in multiplayer. If it is, then maybe it would be possible for somebody who is an experience virtual pilot to go up in my plane, show me what I'm doing wrong, and answering any questions I have.

Here's one of the questions I have about fs9. I can only seem to plan routes from one airport to another. How do I plan a route that flys over a particular area of interest and returns to the original airport? I want to take off, fly to and find a particular landmark, then return back to the airport I left from.
