Hi,
I just received my new trackIR 4 pro end of last week.
My PC works with XP Home Edition Vers. 2002, Service Pack 2.
I installed the 4.1.030.final program version for trackIR.
The problem is:
I was able to install the trackIR prrgram without problems.
When I follow the manual instructions and plug in the trackIR camera in the USB I get the information new device found trackIR 4.
Than I follow the instructions from the Hardware Wizzard until this message appears:
"An error occured - The specified file is not found"
But after leaving the installation wizard at this point the TrackIR works after starting the program.
Each time I shut down the computer the driver for trackIR semms to be deleted and when I boot the PC again (doesn't matter if the trackIR camera is already pluged in or not, also tried different USB plugs and the power management settings for the USB's)I get the message new device found trackIR 4 and I have to (auto or manually)install once again the trackIR.
This is quite anoying.
Do you have any idea how to solve this problem. Despite this trackIR really rocks.
So long

Sounds like an issue with the USB in general.
1 - Are you using a USB hub, or are you plugging directly into the computer?
2 - Make sure you have the latest chipset drivers, and motherboard bios installed.

Hi
to answer the questions:
1 - I plugged the trackIR directly to the PC (USB)- not a HUB.
2 - What do you mean by latest chipsets? What for? The motherboard processor? An bios upgrade sounds quite risky to me. I am not a professional with this kind of stuff.
Do you still see a chance to solve the problem.
Thanx for your help.

Well as I said, this sounds like an issue with the USB setup (i.e. install, drivers, etc.) within the system itself.
The Chipset, is the chips that are built into the motherboard and control certain functions within the system, in this case the USB functionality.
Your system manufacture should have instructions on performing a bios update, on their website.
