problem with the Heads previewing

Post by francois1 »

Hello everyone

I have had TR4 for sometime now and it has always worked extremely well for me, until now.

When I use the 'Heads' preview there are only two black boxes. No heads are visible? However in 'Profiles; Tracking and Gauges, both are fine?

I use the TR4 in il-2 and I can track around no problem, even the F12 centering function is fine. But no 'Heads' pictures?

Anyone any clues please?

regards

The Heads preview uses Direct3D while the other peview panels use standard Windows 2D drawing methods. Have there been any recent changes to your video card, drivers (video card or motherboard), DirectX or display settings? These could have an impact on the heads window.

Thank you Birch (is that a first name please?) for replying. I have checked my DirectX and it tells me that Direct3D Hardware Acceleration is being used?

Although TIR4 Pro is operating as it should during flying time, the Heads display is still just two black squares?

Anyone any ideas please?

Remove the TrackIR software by doing the following:
a. Click "Start"
b. Click on the "Control Panel"
c. Click "Add/Remove Programs"
d. Find "TrackIR" and click "Change/Remove"
e. Once launched it will give the option to completely remove it.
f. Delete the NaturalPoint folder at the following location, C:\Program Files\NaturalPoint
g. Download and reinstall the software from the following location, http://www.naturalpoint.com/trackir/06- ... nuals.html

Thank you Vincent.

I did as you suggested, including firing up my machinery again and still 'no Heads' are visible?

I think that I must be the only guy in the World with this problem, which arrived completely out of the blue. I do have DirectX 9c installed too?

1 - Had you made any changes to the video hardware on the system?

2 - Installed any windows updates recently?

3 - Updated the Video card drivers?

4 - What video card do you have installed?

Just to clarify, the heads had been working, at one point?

What happens if you use an older version of the video card drivers?

Vincent, I went back to 3rd October, 2005, drivers and the result is the same. No 'Heads,' in the 'view' selection?
