unhandeled exception error

Post by jrjacobs »

While starting IL2 i get a horrible frame rate ( only 1 or 2 fps). then i hear an error tone.
I exit the game and I have a "TrackIR error, unhandled exception error". I have to click ok, it repeats, and I have to click ok a second time. TrackIR will not work again until I restart the computer

Do you have the latest chipset drivers and motherboard bios installed on the system?

Are you plugging in directly to the system, or are you using a hub?

Have you tried isolating the device on the USB ports?

Have you tried turn off any kind of power save feature for your USB ports?

In the "Device Manager" you can right click the "USB Hub"(s), that show, and then select properties. On the power management tab, uncheck the box that allows the computer to turn off the USB port to save power (i.e. uncheck the box). Sometimes that has an impact on the connectivity of the devices.

Yes and Yes

directly into motherboard backplane, i've tried al the different usb connectors (mobo riser) too.

All are off

this problem is only apparent when in IL2, and in SLI mode and only when trackir is running.
would you like me to make a video?

A screenshot of the error would be good. Please send it to Support@naturalpoint.com

Is the IL2 that is throwing the error or the TrackIR application?

Does this only occur when running in SLI mode?

Windows Help: Print Screen

To do this, follow this procedure:

1. Maximize the window you'd like to capture.
2. To copy/capture the current window, hold down ALT + Print Scrn at the same time. To capture the entire screen, just press Print Scrn alone.
3. Open a new document in MS Paint, MS Word, MS Photo Editor, or Adobe PhotoShop.
4. Paste the screen shot by holding down CTRL and V at the same time.
5. Save the document as a .JPG or .JPEG file and send it in.

i've sent screencaps of the problem - switching to the new beta drivers seems to have fixed the unhandled exception error

but now i have a new problem -

turning my head left has a micropause, turning it right is smooth as glass. i made a video of it and included it with the email.

Replied in email......

Try moving the TrackIR to the left side of the monitor.
