I'm so angry with the quality of this thing!!!
I'm in a bad mood&very ANGRY!!!((( Two TRACK IR's 4pro -are died suddenly during a half of one year !? What could tell better about worse electronics quality in that model???
First TR'ir died suddenly after 2 days (2 hours if be more precise)! Well, i changed it with the warranty(but here is 1 problem-it was bought in MOSCOW & I live in MINSK -its about 1000 kilometers between this cities)So every one knows that TRACK IR 4 pro became very hot when it works,so some players make many holes in its case & fix radiator on chip...I thought it could help...what a fool was I !!! I made all so accurate( hols at case,radiator on chip) ,temperature before was 58 C after 42 C & after tuning all was fine(during 6 months after that)...till today!!!(((
Just yesterday i was flying in IL2 as usuall & today this thing is not working. I unpluged it from USB port & plug it in to another- nothing happened(with such succes i could plug dinner fork there-result will be the same)Computer dont see trackir at usb & no sound present as usuall on XP operational system when you plug in new USB device!!!USB port is OK, i use it for joystick(all 6 of them are fine).So of course its my guilt that warranty is void( i opened device case on 2nd TRir),but one thing i also know exactly -that
breakage elektronics is guilt of manufacturer company!!!-NO ONE USB DEVICE ON MY COMPUTER WASN'T BREAKED DURING IT EXISTANCE, EXCEPT TRir 4 pro(two of them)!!!
I also find some posts at russian forums ,where people described such problem with "suddenly TRir 4 pro death"!
It means that here is some serious problems with quality&as we can see- you dont hurry to change something in your work or electrik scheme(i cant tell where axactly is problem), but if you think that we will buy it with such defects because here is no other manufacturer of such game devices,then-SHAME ON YOU!!!Im really dissapointed in your products!!!

2.I use USB ports directly at motherboard-no usb hub
3.System XP professional
4.Motherboard Epox 9NDA3 nForce 3 Ultra (AMD64 3200+939Socket,NCP 1gb ram,MSI GF6800gt 256Mb,420W V-TECH)(here at USB ports also in simultaneously use with TRir : X-45 Saitek,Gamepad Logitech,ChFighterstick-all of them still alive)

Sorry to hear about the hardware failure, two in a row is really crappy, I agree. Overall, our defect rate is very low for a mass produced device.

Yes ,Jim,it was very unpleasant incidents in my case.And i was very vexed,but truth to say after contacts with naturalpoint technical support , my opinion about your work start changing to the better side

Today i got the package,very quickly .Thank you ! It works fine.I hope that my incident with 2 broken TRirs is only single instance .
p.s Now i would like to buy TRir Clip,but here is one question,could you answer on it : TRir Clip use active infrared leds,does it mean that i can turn off infrared camera leds at TRir (in software)& it will track fine(it will lower temperature of chips)-am i right?(or i will need to turn them on anyway)

When using the TrackClip Pro, the LEDs are turned off on the TrackIR unit itself, so it will run a little cooler. Generally though heat is not the reason the TrackIR unit fails, it is designed to run that warm, so it will not increase or decrease the life of the unit.
