Need help with Trackir 4 with 4.30B Software

I'm hoping someone can help me here.I'm having big issues with being able to use my trackir 4 in any game With my currrent hardware setup. I'm currently running:

Intel E6600 processor
2 gig of corsair xms ram
Sapphire Radeon X1950 XTX 512 vid card
Windows XP (SP2)
Direct X April '07
Logtiech G15 Keyboard
Logitech G25 Steering Wheel
Logitech G5 gaming mouse
750w Power SUpply

So my issues is happening when I start the trackir software & try to play a game (rFactor for example). When I get into the game, the Keys seem to stop working on my G15. Strangely enough I'm able to ALT-TAB out of the game to get back to windows, but in game my keyboard doesn't function at all. Same goes for the G25 Steering Wheel. It doesnt even show up in game.

When I 'x' out of the Trackir software & run the game, everything works as normal....

I'm really hoping somene can help me here. I didnt use to have this issue until recently. It seems to hvae started with the new software. I've even unistalled the software, deleted the Naturalpoint folder & re-install with no success.

Sorry for all the details, but I'm hoping all the details will help someone give me some assistance.

I loved using my trackir & it worries me that I may not ba able to use it again in games. Someone please help!

Have you tried the old software, or have you got a System Restore point you can go back to before the probs started.

Yes, I tried both actually. I went back to the 4.029 software & that didnt solve the problem & I even went back to a proevious restore point, but that seemed to fail also. They only reason that leads me to believe it is the trackir software is that when i don't run it, all other peripherals work in-game(s). But when i load up the Trackir Software, the peripherals don't show up any longer.

Just not sure what to do. I really want to get back to using my Trackir in my games. Its by far the best 'gaming' purchase I've ever made.

Would re-intalling XP possibly fix my issue?

It maybe tied to the USB drivers, on the system.

1 - Make sure you have the latest USB chipset drivers.

2 - Make sure you have the latest motherboard bios update.

3 - What happens if you try moving USB ports on the system?

4 - Are you using a hub, or plugging directly into the system?

1 - I'll have to check this one

2 - Checked & yes my BIOS is up to date

3 - I've moved them so much I'm dizzy from it.

4 - Everything is plugged directly into the system.

The thing that worries me the most is that I didnt have this problem previously. It seems my issues happened with the new software.

BUT I will say this, around that same time, I did upgrade to the April '07 DirectX, plus I updated my vid card drivers (ATI 7.3 - now using 7.4). But would either of these actually cause the Trackir software to cause device input errors?

The TrackIR shouldn't cause any device errors.....

It's not normal for Software to cause Device's to stop working and Video drivers also but as you changed that at the same time, try uninstalling the Vid drivers and then running TrackIR and the games, if it works ok reinstall the old drivers and try again.
Did you check your Device Manager to see if there where any items that were not operating properly.
I have no other idea's and the system restore didnt help, so it is possable that the problem is hardware related( drivers for the joysticks?) Try the updates as Vincent suggested and see what happens. Doing a repair on XP would be last resort on my PC, If the old TrackIR software didnt fix it then it probably isnt TrackIR software related but it could be USB or hardware related. Is track IR working ok when it is running. Did you try reinstalling the drivers for the devices, maybe the DirectX upgrade has something to do with it.
Try downloading FileMon:

Run it while your working and see if it comes up with an error when the devices stop working.
Might give you a hint to what is wrong

Thanks! I'll give that file a try to see what's happening. I'm beggining to think it may be due to the vid card drivers. Reason being is that I've NEVER had problems with the Trackir software before & I dont think that the new Direct X would have caused an issue with the software. Since the new vid card drivers were installed on the same day, this may be the culprit. I'll give it a try & see what happens.

Well I have no clue what to do now. I tried to repair my Windows Installation & I'm still having the same issue. I used the file monitor & I noticed that some parts of Trackir when loading up showed 'file not found'. I'm at work currently, so I dont have the log in front of me.

Another thing I noticed is that in the Install Log in my Naturalpoint folder there is an error that seems to happen during the installation. I'll try to post the install log later when I get home.

Which states something like - Error = 183

This is normal, and just deals with the way that the TrackIR drivers are detected within Windows (in regards to certification).
