suddenly stops tracking and receiving signal

Hello. I have recently started using my smartnav at work on a machine running vista on a dual monitor setup. It tracks fine up to a point then suddenly stops getting signal when i go off the screen. it will start working again if i start the program again but that has gotten tedious. i have the latest drivers as well... any ideas? id really like to use my smartnav at work.

Which version of the software are you using?

If you look at the tracking screen, within the SmartNAV software, what are you seeing in the black window?

I am using the latest version of the software. The main screen with the yellow tracking dot is present but stuck and not moving. Under control panel->tracking the view is functioning properly and follows my dot fine.

Nothing else being tracked on the tracking tab?

there is a small unmoving blob (a fixed roof light) but it seems to follow only my reflective dot which is a different color..

It sounds like, when it moves off screen, it is then trying to use the overhead light as a point of IR light to track from. You should only see the 1 green dot, on nothing else on the Tracking screen.

Try adjusting the light filtering, on the tracking tab, by checking the box, and moving the slider to the right.
