Shakey motion in IL2 1946?
Hi, I just got TrackIR 4. I seem to be having a problem tweaking it. Im playing IL2 1946, and it runs smoothly until I get into a fight with a good many planes on screen. The screen gets really jumpy/shaky and it becomes nearly unplayable. Any fixes? Thanks
My system:
Windows Vista
Intel Core 2 CPU 6600 @ 2.4GHz
NVIDIA 8800 GTS
2 gigs of ram

Turn off anisotropic
Set mipmap detail level to: best performance
Turn off antialiasing
Any other applications running in the background?
What version of the video card drivers are you using?

Cool thanks! Turning off anisotropic seems to have done the trick.
How do I get it to have the 6 degrees of freedom like in this video with 1946? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FFTRsBcS ... ed&search=

That video is the result of a hack. 6DOF is not available in IL2 1946.
Re: Shakey motion in IL2 1946?
Correct, only 2DOF support for IL2. The follow-up application from the makers of IL2, will have full 6DOF support.
Re: Shakey motion in IL2 1946?
I have noticed some shaking in the game with the TrackIr running. I did not have this before installing and usine my TrackIr 4. It goes away when I pause the Tracking, but comes back when I enable it again unless I close the TrackIr program, exit the game and start all over again. This occurs randomly. I have nothing except TeamSpeak running with IL2-1946 and TrackIr.
I am using a P4 3.20e (Prescott), 800 MHz FSB, 2 GB Corsair TwinX Dual Channel DDRram and XFX Nvidia 7950GT 512MB 8x AGP. I have perfect setting selected and enabled all the eye candy in the config.ini files of the game. I disabled the graphics selections in the game setup file in order to let the graphics card control these functions such as antisotropic and antialiasing.
My FPS prior to TrackIr were 40-50 FPS. Are you saying that I / we need to change these settings to accomodate the TrackIr? You ever try flying over water in this game with no detail? With no depth perception and makes it isn't too difficult catch a prop or wingtip when skimming the surface.

You could try increasing the "Set Priority" for the TrackIR software, within the Task Manager -> Processes Tab -> Right click on the TrackIR.exe file -> Set Priority to AboveNormal....
See if that helps.....

I will try this later tonight, but I would like to know exactly what this change is actually doing and will it affect the other processes that normally run with the OS?

Re: Shakey motion in IL2 1946?
All it does is make sure that the TrackIR is getting adequate access to the CPU, and if there is a conflict with another app, the TrackIR can have priority in the order of tasks.
It won't effect other items, or applications.......
