Track IR4 not compatible with FSX SP1 ?????

For me, the fix (per Vincent's advice) turned out to be an FSX uninstall, deletion of the two Simconnect folders, then a complete reinstall. TrackIR now recognized and all problems solved at this point.

Working fine here after FSX SP1 install. Prior to SP1 I did install the photoscenery patch (a long time ago... takes care of water edges showing up with black squares)

Have a TrackIR 3 with vector support and TrackClip
Running 4.1 Build 29

Pentium 4, 3.2 GHz Hyperthreading, 3 GB Ram, XP SP2, Nvidia 6200

Blue light came on very first time. Also running with the following flight sim peripherals

CH Products Flight Sim Yoke
CH Products Rudder Pedals
GoFlight GF-46 (radio display panel)
GoFlight RP-48 (knobs and pushbuttons)
Logitech USB headset

Gave TrackIR a dedicated USB port on my computer. Other devices through a USB 2.0 hub except mouse.

SO HERES WHAT I DID:

Uninstalled everything FSX related.
Deleted FSX folder
DEleted both simconnect folders
Reinstalled everything followed by SP1 and wala!!!

You should have the 2 simconnect folders - the number maybe slightly different......

One is from the install of FSX, and the otherone is installed under SP1

....

I have seen this one.......

C:\WINDOWS\WinSxS\x86_Microsoft.FlightSimulator.SimConnect_67c7c14424d61b5b_10.0.60905..........

Still remain, even after an uninstall and reinstall of FSX. Which means that if the simconnect file located in the folder5 has become corrupted, and does not get overridden, then the issue still remains.

Same problem here, but you just gave me the solution Vincent !
I just deleted these Simconnect folders and repaired my FSX installation, and now it works fine !!

Ok got mine working now too!!

Uninstalled FSX again and this time the uninstaller didn't miss the simconnect folders (or the fsx.cfg for that matter). Reinstalled, patched, and WALLA!--TrackIR is alive again!

Thanks for the help guys, can't live without my TrackIR!!

P.S. you would think Microsoft could create an uninstaller that would actually *uninstall* the software!!
