V100 vector 3 parameters

Post by danmapes »

I have both an older C120 as well as the V100 and am running tests on the baseline SDK; specifically the vector 3 expansion with the V100.

The baseline sdk currently defaults to the C120 settings of mm(2.2,1.8), pix(355,290), flen(3.7).

I couldn't find published focal lengths for the V100 which isn't supprising since this is lens dependant, so I ran a match keying exercise on the lens using the V100 imager size stated in your FAQ #1 and got an fov of 45.529 and focal length of 5.363. The fov is within a degree of spec which gives confidence and the focal length increase from the C120 also seems reasonable given the larger imager size.

But such focal lenght calculations are a fuzzy exercise at best. I was hoping, based on these results, you might know which lens I have installed and give me the bench measured focal length. Also, for the record, if you do ship different lenses with the V100 could you publish a table of their focal lengths. ( Not sure but I might have different lenses from two different V100 orders ).

For now, I've set the V100 to mm(4.5, 2.88), pix(640,480, flen(5.363 est. ).

Thanks.

Hi,

We recently added a chart to the OptiTrack site which lists the FOV and focal length of lenses for our current camera models. It sounds like you probably have the 4.5mm low distortion lens, you can verify this by checking to see if there are 4 notches around the top rim of the lens.
