Software won't run or Uninstall

I accidentally disconnected the TrackIR USB cable while the software was running. I closed the program and reconnected the cable. Windows (XPpro) detected a new USB device and the new hardware installation wizard opened. I let it do the installation automatically and the device installation failed. TerackIR shows up in device manager with an exclamation point and under properties it says the device is not installed correctly. The TrackIR software will not open. I get a message �TrackIR.exe has encountered a problem��.� I thought uninstalling and reinstalling the software might fix the problem but I cannot uninstall it in Add/Remove programs. I get a message that a file can�t be found. So the software won�t run and it won�t uninstall. What should I do?

1 - Have you tried deleting the NaturalPoint folder, then reinstalling with the latest version of the software?

I haven't tried that. I've always understood that deleting a program folder instead of using uninstal was inappropriate and may result in additional problems. Arn't there registry changes that need to be made that won;t occur if the folder is just deleted?

Generally, you should be ok....

If not - we can edit the registyry as well......
