Help!
Track IR was working fine then for some reason it decided to start playing up.
Initially it just took a long time to load and now it locks up my system with 100% cpu usage when you try & start the programme and nothing inicates it is trying to load.
I can only shut it down from Windows task manager.
I have even restored my pc to a point a couple of weeks ago when TrackIR4 was working fine.
Also run XPMedic to check the registry & repair any faults.
Please can someone offer me some guidance.
TrackIR4 100% CPU usage no start -RESOLVED
Re: TrackIR4 100% CPU usage no start
Ok, think I've got it sussed!
It would appear that the profile can become corrupted.
Here's the process I used:-
Disconnect TrackIR from the PC.
Delete TrackIR through control panel.
Check the program Folder and delete the Natural point folder (backed up my profiles to another location first).
Set up a system check on restart, then shut down and re-booted.
System check ran and then installed the TrackIR software.
Re-connected the USB plug to the PC.
Shut down & re-boot again.
Do not copy your backed up profiles to the Natural Point programme file yet!!!!!
Hit Ctrl+Alt+Delete and monitor the performance tab for CPU usage.(Refer to my first message).
Start TrackIR from the shortcut.
If it does'nt start then you have another problem!
If it does start then check the tracking, gauges and head screens for movement and that the green light is on on the sensor.
Now that's all working shut down TrackIR and copy your profiles in one at a time and check if it re-starts for each copy loaded.
If No re-start & CPU 100% then the Profile is corrupt.
It worked for me, but took 3 days of head scratching to figure it out.

Also, a little something shorter to look at, and try....
In the following folder location, C:\Program Files\NaturalPoint\TrackIR4\Profiles,the profiles shouldn't be any larger than 4KB in size. If they are, just delete the profile that is.
