Can anyone help me please. I'm running FS2004 and FSX on separate partitions of a second hard disk with Windows Vista on the first. I've installed Track IR3 with latest driver (4.1.030 Final.B), activated it, the software recognises the hardware, and I have green light and good tracking. But when I load either game, I get no blue light and hence no in-game tracking. The TrackIR panel says that no game is loaded.
I have read this forum, tried most things like disabling Windows Firewall, AVG anti-Virus software, reinstalling SimConnect via the SDK, but still the trackIR3 is dead as far as game usage goes. Any ideas anyone?
Thanks
No blue light at all (for FS2004 or FSX)
Re: No blue light at all (for FS2004 or FSX)
Does the Tracking window seems to be tracking the reflectors?
Is the software detecting the TrackIR unit?
Is the software detecting the TrackIR unit?
Re: No blue light at all (for FS2004 or FSX)
Yes and yes, Vincent, but eureka! tonight it works.
Following a tip in one of the forums it suggested running TrackIR as administrator under Vista. If one has User Account Control running (which Microsoft suggests as default) then it seems to be necessary to edit the Properties of the TrackIR program to tick "Run as administrator".
When it then started it prompted me to activate the Vector Expansion again and alas the blue light came on, but boo, the green and red lights went off. I disengaged the USB connection a couple of times, started FS9 and FSX a couple of times and then all lights were working. Tomorrow may be another day but for now, all is OK.
Thanks for your reply.
