Smartnav menu letters unrecognizable

I apologize if this has been asked and answered before. I did try to search this forum for it, but didn't find anything.

The pop-up menu for smartnav has crazy black squares with white lines in it for the navigation/button labels. There are no letters/words displayed on any of the menu pages. Should I just reinstall? It's been this way for a while.

Very strange....

I would just do a clean install

Remove the SmartNAV software by doing the following:
a. Click "Start"
b. Click on the "Control Panel"
c. Click "Add/Remove Programs"
d. Find "SmartNAV" and click "Change/Remove"
e. Once launched it will give the option to completely remove it.
f. Delete the NaturalPoint folder at the following location, C:\Program Files\NaturalPoint
g. Download and reinstall the software from the following location, http://www.naturalpoint.com/smartnav/su ... loads.html

Hi Vincent,
Well, I did all that, and the new menu with the three buttons popped up. But, those silly non-characters are still there. It must be in my computer. I'll ask my bf when he gets home what he thinks it is. If I could post a pic I would. It is very strange.

could be a glitch in the character set, on the system, you can also try switching the language set, SmartNAV -> Control Panel -> Setup tab, try changing it to something else, then back to english.......

What a dope I am. I just changed it from Chinese to English. Wow, do I feel stupid. But, thankfully an easy fix.
