Trackir 3 with vector tracking Driver issue

Post by TheMoose »

Hi, I have issues with the latest drivers available from your website. They seem jerkier and have lack of response. The only solution to my dilemma was to revert back to the original drivers that came with the product witch was version 4.0.022.

The problem with that version is I can not use with FSX, but at least now my Flamming Cliff runs better.

As for the latest version, I tried basically every setting imaginable, from light sensitivity to all different configurations. I did notice that if I enable light sensitivity and set the setting all the way down, would yield better response. But still is jerky when turning my head, causing me to loose track of my target in dogfights with IL2 and Lockon.

Would there be a version, previously then the newest one available that would keep a better response and tracking and would permit to update the games so I can use with FSX? For some reason on the main website. I see all versions, but only the latest one is available to download.

Thanks in advance for your assistance. Until then FSX is on hold since I prefer FC.
Im concerned that when BlackShark hits the market, the current version that I am using (4.0.022) that yield better results with FC, would not be functional with BlackShark.

My specs
Windows Xp Pro Service pack 2
LGA775, Asus P5P800, P4 3Ghz
3Gig DDR400
BFG 6800 OC/GT

Could you be a little more specific, in regardws to the jerkyness?

Do you have the Vector expansion add-on?

Looking at the Tracking screen, do you have more than the 3 green dots?

What version of Windows are you running?

Are you connected to a hub, or directly on the system motherboard?

Here is a screen capture that might show exactly the issue that I have. Check this video

Could you be a little more specific, in regardws to the jerkyness? see video, bare in mind this is the older version. The jerkyness is apparant, but much less then the newer version.

Do you have the Vector expansion add-on? yes

Looking at the Tracking screen, do you have more than the 3 green dots? only the vector dots are showing

What version of Windows are you running? Xp pro, service pack 2

Are you connected to a hub, or directly on the system motherboard? connectivity to the internet, going through a Dlink router, has to bearing on the issue, since it's apparant even in the control panel of the trackir. The unit is connected via USB2, and yes already tried switching the usb ports, even lowered the speed of it to see if any difference. But no difference.

Thanks for the reply

Part of the issue could be the red that appears, as the video moves around.

1 - Clean the clip with some warm water and mild soap.

2- Clean the front of the TrackIR3

3 - Do a clean install of the TrackIR software

Remove the TrackIR software by doing the following:
a. Click "Start"
b. Click on the "Control Panel"
c. Click "Add/Remove Programs"
d. Find "TrackIR" and click "Change/Remove"
e. Once launched it will give the option to completely remove it.
f. Delete the NaturalPoint folder at the following location, C:\Program Files\NaturalPoint
g. Download and reinstall the software from the following location,
http://www.naturalpoint.com/trackir/06- ... nuals.html

4 - Make sure that you are center within the tracking screen, when in your normal sitting position.

5 - Try moving back from the camera slightly.

Thanks I think that did the trick, I used a Q tip, with some alcohol and rub gently the reflectors on the vector. Man where they ever dirty.

Sometimes the simplest solutions does the trick, lol.

Thanks a bunch.
