Trackclip pro plays up when looking left

Post by RetiredRacer »

I have a problem with the track-ir 4 that i recently bought, it moves up and down and to the right fine but when i turn to the left just slightly it goes beserk. The heads display shows my head still basically looking straight ahead but the camera head is upside-down looking at the back floor???? Anyone had this before?

Is this using the default profile?

In the view->Tracking screen, do you only see 3 green dots, and no red ones?

In the profile itself, do you have the TrackClip Pro selected?

A yes to all three questions. but because I was in a hurry when I typed that post I've noticed it's not 100% right.
In the heads view when looking to the left my head barely moves and then it jumps to about 90 degrees and the camera head moves about 10 degrees and then jumps upside down.

I've now noticed if I tilt my head to the right the camera head looks to the rear about 160 degrees before jumping upside down and when I tilt my head to the left looks to the left about 90 degrees

Hmmmmmm,

The TrackClip Pro is mounted on the left side of the headset?

The camera is on the left side of your monitor?

And the the green are on the center of the tracking screen?

How far away from the camera are you located?

Yes to the first three questions and 2' (24") to the 4th.
(The camera is tilted down slightly to get the three dots in the centre)

Thank you Vincent

In the following folder location, C:\Program Files\NaturalPoint\TrackIR4\Profiles, what is the file size for each profile?

Remove the TrackIR software by doing the following:
a. Click "Start"
b. Click on the "Control Panel"
c. Click "Add/Remove Programs"
d. Find "TrackIR" and click "Change/Remove"
e. Once launched it will give the option to completely remove it.
f. Delete the NaturalPoint folder at the following location, C:\Program Files\NaturalPoint
g. Download and reinstall the software from the following location,
http://www.naturalpoint.com/trackir/06- ... nuals.html

Those folders were 2,2,4,4,and 4.
We uninstaled then downloaded and instaled but it was still the same, but with a little bit of playing around I found that on the clip piece if I pushed the bottom in till it was against my cheek I was able to move my head more to the left before it went tail up so I sharpened up the YAW and PITCH profiles so I could get full vision without it playing up. It has taken a little bit of practice to get used to it but I am happy with how it is.

Thanks

Bob

Hi Vincent,
This may be of interest to you, if I take the four steps that "MRPIX" suggests for jerky head movement "my track clip pro is jerky" it solves my problem as well.

Just to ad to the above my sharp settings are still in place but after doing ""MRPIX's" 4 steps the head movements are not as sharp and are as smooth as silk.

I've got to say this product has taken flight simming to a whole new world and has made it exciting again, thank you Naturalpoint.
