Tracking after visiting other apps

Post by il2user »

hi,

sometimes while playing a game like IL2 46 I need to switch to other apps for a moment. When switching back to the game I often notice that TrackIR is no longer fully working. For example centering no longer works. It seems that the "connection" between TrackIR and the game is somehow disturbed by switching to other applications.

Do you think there's anything that could be done to make this "connection" allow visiting other apps? I have TIR3 Pro and latest SW 4.1.30.

You should be fine, when switching between apps.

What OS are you running?

What do you have the hotkey functions mapped to?

What other applications do you have running in the background?

I use Windows2000 SP4.
My center view is mapped to numpad-0.
Other programs running at the same time vary, normally I use as few as possible.

I tested things to find out if it was some specific application that was causing it and actually found out what the problem is I normally switch to other apps from TaskManager. I open it by pressing CTRL-ALT-DEL and then selecting some other app. I found out that this was the problem. After opening TaskManager TrackIR's keys no longer worked in IL2.

BUT: after switching back to IL2 and pressing first CTRL, then ALT - TrackIR's keys like centering worked again! No idea why this is so, but it's like IL2 thought that I was still pressing CTRL and ALT keys. Really pressing those keys somehow resetted this. May sound a bit confusing, but I found the fix and that's what matters. Maybe helps someone else also.
