'Illegal Instruction in MSVCRT'

Post by kjoyce »

Vincent

Using TR4Pro with the proClip plugged into the AudioFX USB piggyback plug.

This occurs about 3 minutes into the game. The software will happily sit in the system tray all day, I can open and close it and play with all the settings, but it will crash when actually tracking in-game. Occurs with all games I use (BoB2WoV, FSX, SFP1, WoV, WoE).

I have been using TRACKIR for a while now and I cannot live without it!

XP home, SP2, TrackIR 4 Pro, TrackClipPro, AudioFX

Have you tried plugging directly into the system USB ports, and not goinging thru a pass-thru port?

Have you tried turn off any kind of power save feature for your USB ports?

In the "Device Manager" you can right click the "USB Root Hub"(s), that show, and then select properties. On the power management tab, uncheck the box that allows the computer to turn off the USB port to save power (i.e. uncheck the box). Sometimes that has an impact on the connectivity of the devices.

Sorry Vincent - no joy.
I plugged all the usb devices (AudioFX, TR4, TrackClipPro, Saiteak AV8R) into separate ports and unchecked the USB settings as you instructed.
The software is perfectly fine until it has to do any actual tracking, and crashes a couple of minutes into flying, no matter what game I am playing. The blue light stays on.
I have .Net framework 2 and 3 installed - do you think I should uninstall .Net Framework 3?

No joy.

All ok with SFP1. Flew for 10 minutes.

Then swapped for FSX and the crash occurred even before the flight had finished loading...

Looks like FSX is the problem.

Do I need a new copy of MSVCRT.DLL?

Vincent

I have found 3 installs of MSVCRT.DLL, one in c:\windows\system32 and 2 in the winsxs C++ folders. Which one is used by TrackIR.exe.manifest?
