Folks,
I can't get TIR4 to work in FS9 (running on Vista). This is a fresh install of FS9 on a brand new Vista PC, and brand new TrackIR Pro 4 (although I am familiar with TIR use as I have owned both previous versions).
The TIR itself works okay - i can see smooth accurate movement in gauges/heads/tracking, however absolutely nothing happens when in FS9 VC mode. I am using TrackClip Pro as well.
+ Latest TIR software installed.
+ Latest drivers installed.
+ I have added the HideInfoText=0 to FS9.cfg
+ The standard/latest language.dll is installed.
+ I have tried on various USB ports (not via hub)
+ USB ports are not configured to power down
I do notice on the main tab of trackIR software that it displays Current Game: None
I primarily use add-on a/c (LVLD/PMDG), but i tried in the basic default a/c and these do not work either.
Can anybody offer any advice - I simply can't go back to flying without TIR.
Regards,
Capt Virtual

Try running the TrackIR, and FS9 software as an Admin?
Any other add-on software installed?
Which version of the TrackIR software are you using?

Thanks for quick reply.
Try running the TrackIR, and FS9 software as an Admin?
Yes - I am admin - I've tried with both UAC on/off.
Any other add-on software installed?
Where do I start???? I'll list apps that read/write and/or have modules. I keep most of my software up to date.
4.1 Build 30
Thing is it is almost the same FS configuration I had running successfully before with TIR3, just now on a new Vista PC. I had no issues whatsoever then.

OK, it looks like one of the add-on application settings is causing it from running....
FSInn installed?
Any of these apps have a head latency setting?
What do you have your hotkeys set to, in the TrackIR software?
I would suggesst selecting PrntScrn/Scroll lock/Pause break.

Hi Vincent,
OK, it looks like one of the add-on application settings is causing it from running....
FSInn installed?
NO
Any of these apps have a head latency setting?
Not sure. I would imagine FS9 itself does in order to synchronize sound/visuals/flt dynamics. I guess the commercial a/c add-ons would have to.
What do you have your hotkeys set to, in the TrackIR software?
Joystick buttons. The pause/track functionality is working okay, the software just doesn't seem to see FS2004. Am I supposed to see the blue light illuminated fully?
Anyhow I recently noticed that my FS Real Time dropped out a few times due to failing to see FS9 as well - I am now thinking corrupt FSUIPC or a core dll. So rather than go through a lengthy process of elimination I am reluctantly doing a full restore of FS9 (+ 9.1). I'll let you know the result.

Re: TrackIR won't work FS9
OK, I would go about reinstalling the add-on software, one step at a time, so that we can see where it is "breaking".

Re: TrackIR won't work FS9
Hi Vincent,
[size:14pt] Problem solved [/size]
Unfortunately I can't say for certain what the root cause was, I did a complete re-install of FS9 & add-ons from scratch. My intent was to test at each install of add-ons to establish the failure point (as you suggested) but right from go the thing was communicating. Prior to re-install I did have FSUIPC logging IPC comms and I did notice a substantial amount of bad or timed out error msgs - so it was something to do with FS9 communicating with apps.
Thanks for all your help & suggestions. Perhaps I'll see you at 37,000ft.
