TrackI@4 ok in display, not in FSX

Post by BobRob »

I sent this before, and replied to Vincent, but now I can't find it at the Natural Point website.
To repeat:Track IR4 udated to v .30, for FSX, displays well on heads in the Track IR site. But it does not appear to work in the game.
I have Windows XP. A new computer with enough power, memory etc, I have FSX checked on the display screen in profiles. What shall I do?

Are you running any firewall/antivirus software?

OK, one step to try.

1 - Delete the following file folder

C:\WINDOWS\WinSxS\x86_Microsoft.FlightSimulator.SimConnect_67c7c14424d61b5b_10.0.60905..........

2 - Insert the FSX CD, and run the repair utility. Basically we are looking to reinstall the folder.

3 - Hopefully this should remedy the issue.

Please let me know if this helps.

Vincent, after deleting the Windows\WinSxS file, should I reinstall it after I run the repair utility?

I'm late in replying to the posts in early October, about IR4 running on screen OK, but not in the game.I had just decided to forget IR4 but kept trying, because when it works (about 10% of the time), it's terrific. I did everything you advised, about deleting and then repairing the Windows SxS file. Nothing works. Still the device will not work in the game. I've gone through everyone's postings at this site. This erratic performance has plagued IR4 since I bought it.
I have really given up and taken it out.. Have I no recourse?

AVG. But I've turned it off while attempting the above procedure.

I installed CFS3 and TIR4 showed in the program but not in the flight sim. Checked in here and on the net and realised their were some problems. Went back to FSX to check and it wasn`t working there either. Hazy memory tells me the problem started prior to CFS3 install so I tried to recall anything I`d done.

I have some USB LCD module I do test work on, uninstalled these and uninstalled the drivers, windows put them straight back. So, I made some system changes that allowed me to uninstall and DELETE THE DRIVERS so the hardware went into OTHER in the control panel. Reinstall of TIR4 from the latest install and nothing still.... so this was not the problem.....

Changed USB ports, dumped CFS3, tried allsorts witha reboot between and full install of TIR4 again. This too didn`t fix it and isn`t the problem.....

Know what fixed it? Uninstall TIR4, delete the folder left behind. Reboot, with TIR4 disconnected. INSTALL FROM THE ORIGINAL CD, not the update on hard disk. Then plug in and set up......

The problem scenario was..... TIR4 worked perfectly in the set up program but did nothing in FSX at all. I`ll sort CFS3 as and when possible, going to put 3.1 back on and try again. Then retry FSX.
