loose connection??

Post by mlion »

Hello,

I have already posted a message to the support, but I thought I try this in parallel.

I have purchased TrackIR 4 about one year ago (shipment airway bill of 16 October 2006) and it has worked well so far. About two weeks ago I have purchased the TrackClip Pro as addition which also worked well since.

However, this weekend the device was not properly detected by my computer. The USB device was detected by windows every view seconds and then the device was lost again. Sometimes it was detected as unknown USB device, sometimes as TrackIR4. The blue LED of the device was blinking and the LEDs of the TrackClip were on, so the power supply seemed okay. During all this time the device was not detected by the TrackIR software. I have already tried the following, but nothing worked: restarting the computer, unplugging and re-plugging TrackIR to different USB ports of my computer (together with TrackClip and to separate ports), re-installing the TrackIR software.

During the last year the device was almost constantly plugged to the computer. Therefore I don't think that I have broken the connection by putting strain on it.

I would be happy if you could help me getting the device running again. As it is now almost exactly 1 year since I purchased it, I don't know whether I still have waranty if it is really broken.

Thanks very much for your help, Manuel

Thank you very much, Vincent for your quick e-mail response.
As I tried re-connecting the device today it was working again.
My query has become obsolete.

Best regards
Manuel
