Track IR3 + Vector Exp - Probs in FSX?

Win XP Home SP2
When I use my Track IR 3 with latest s/w, (TrackIR_4.1.030.Final.B)I get weird results when using it with FSX. At first all appears normal but after 20-30secs the screen moves as if I am moving my head, (although I'm not!). I get a lot of stutters, (from Track IR - Not FSX) & response is erratic. Sometimes It will react quickly & at other times it will move too quickly. Often when my head is totally still the screen kind of twitches like I am slightly moving my head. When I look at the tracking page all appears normal with the green & red dots - Any suggestions? I have tried to re-install S/W & change USB ports.

Prefered object size is 100
Light filtering is 130 (Makes no diff if I turn it off!)
Camera LED's ON
Camera Rotation 0
Flight profile selected
Vector is selected in Flight profile
Smoothing is set to 30

Well, first off, there should be no red dots. If there is that will cause it to behave erratically.

Try increasing the light filtering to 200

Sorry I mean only 3 green dots/small horizontal lines. No red anywhere to be seen. My mistake. So prob still exists just forget I mentioned Red dots!
Another strange anomoly I have discovered - I have Just Flights VFR Photo terrain on a USB2 External HD. The prob is really bad when I use that scenery. However if I use default scenery , (On PC internal SATA drive), then I get much better results. I really can't fatham out why this can be?

If it using the USB resources, it could be causing erratic behaviour.

In the following folder location, C:\Program Files\NaturalPoint\TrackIR4\Profiles, what is the file size for each profile?

Combat_Flight - 2kb
Default_Profile - 4kb
Flight - 4kb
Racing - 2 kb
Also Profiles Backup contains Default_Profile 3.92kb

How can I free up USB Resources or increase them?

In the "Device Manager" you can right click the "USB Root Hub"(s), that show, and then select properties. On the power management tab, uncheck the box that allows the computer to turn off the USB port to save power (i.e. uncheck the box). Sometimes that has an impact on the connectivity of the devices.


Could also try an external USB hub..........
