TrackIR Startup Issues and Centering in Vista/IL2

Both configurations have been tried both failed... it's as if I didn't change anything.

So, you change it in the profiles, and it seems to recenter within the TrackIR software, but not in IL-2?

That's correct. Once I start IL2 the recentering feature and the Chat (wingman commands from the mapped controller) feature do not work. One difference is that while IL2 is running the centering feature won't work either from the controller or the keyboard... however the chat function does work from the keyboard. Another interesting point is that the centering feature does work when I minimize IL2 (still running) using the windows key on the keyboard... and then the centering feature works from both the controller and the keyboard. So I can play the game, but only after starting IL2 and then minimizing the game momentarily to center trackIR. The trackIR maintains the centered position very well while I fly. I don't consider this solved but it is a temporary workaround.

I did notice that in the CH Control Manager Software for both the Chat and Centering Features the "Key Check" subprogram seems to work as expected. I have these features mapped to shifted buttons on two seperate controllers... The Key Check program show the keyboard buttons I've assigned. However, when I press the shift button, not using the Key Check program, the grayed indicator shows the shift button being pressed and then when I press the assigned button for that feature the grayed indicator doesn't show the expected button being pushed. On every other shifted feature it does. This seems to indicate a problem in my controllers... however, why then does the Key Check function indicate that the correct keyboard action is taking place and why does the function work outside of IL2???

currently I'm using the CH Products software to map the F12 key. However, I did try changing the key in TrackIR with the same negative result. Also the trackir will center using the mapped button on the joystick when the game is minimized using the "Windows" key... but then if I try to center again, using the same mapped button, when the game is re-activiated by clicking on the game's Icon in the task bar, it won't respond. funtuneately the centering accomplished during the game pause holds for game play once reactivated and doesn't normally need to be recentered. Still the lack of proper functionality is frustrating.

Is the CH software running at the same time?

Could it be a button conflict between the 2 apps?

I tried with both the CH Software running and with it off... after loading the game profile of course.

So...... you load the TrackIR software, with the IL2 autoload profile adjusted to the joystick, then ran IL2, without the CH software running, and it still won't allow you to use the joystick to recenter?
