I have a severe tennis elbow. I need to use my computer totally without mouse.
I will be using computer mostly for work (netsurfing, e-mails, writing documents ect.) and in my freetime strategy games and online poker.
I'm wondering what is my best Smartnav set?
AT version doesn't include footswitches. Do I need foot switch?
Is there any good ways emulate mouse clicks?
What voice recognition software works best with Smartnav?
I would like to have a best equipment with reasonable price..
Thank you in advance
TK
smartnav set for me
Re: smartnav set for me
The AT version is the same as the EG version of the hardware, except that it also includes dwell clicking software.
Dwell Clicking is a complete hands-free clicking method which allows the user to send clicks by simply holding the cursor still over the item they wish to click on. The Dwell Clicking software is a complete package which allows the user to perform all of the tasks that can be accomplished with a mouse, such as Left Click, Double Click, Right Click and Drag.
Also for mouse clicking, you can use keyboard shortcut (hotkeys) to preform the action, add-on switches (plugged into the side of the SmartNAV or thru USB), dwell clicking, voice commands, or the standard mouse buttons.
Any voice software can used, in conjunction with the SmartNAV hardware, but you can only use one voice program at a time. The add-on voice software that we sell has the following features.
Voice Clicking
(Available on All SmartNAV models)
Voice activated clicking allows you to issue mouse clicks and commands by speaking to your computer. Simply say 'left click' and a left click will be performed. This powerful feature makes the SmartNAV more intuitive to use than ever and does not come with any other hands free mouse package, we hope you enjoy using it!
Available Commands
Mouse Commands:
Left down - left button down
Left up - left button up
Left click - left button down and up
right down - right button down
right up - right button up
right click - right button down and up
middle down - middle button down
middle up - middle button up
middle click - middle button down and up
Double click - left button up/down twice
Enter - presses the enter key
SmartNAV Hotkeys:
Precision - start / stop precision mode
Scroll - start / stop scrolling
Pause - start / stop pause mode
Center - center the cursor (said only once)
Activate - used in key activation mode to start / stop mode

Re: smartnav set for me
thank you
i have some other questions as well:
i need also keyboard in screen, but in that (AT) version there is no pedals.
edit ***i was SO blind
can i use two pedals at the same time?
Do every kind of foot switches work with smartnav?
i think i need one or two of those (only one if there is left and right click)
thats because i think that the mouse speed is also important (specially if i'm going to multitable in poker).
of cource i would be using all three: sound, dwell and switch depending in situation
I first think that trackir was better product for me but then i read, that it only works with games, is that true ?
How much that whole smartnav set will be costing for me ?,
i live in finland, but i have mastercard...
and i'm not going to pay 500 euros for smartnav only cause i live in finland
and i dont really have much money anyway, because of this tennis elbow
smartnav AT (400 $) + pedals (?$) + shipment to finland + possible customs
can i get discount if i take whole set ?
do i need anything else ?
sound recognition capable mic? but that is really an issue in another forum...
thank you in advance

how much costs foot pedals separately? do naturalpoint manufacture separate pedals?
Do every foot switch work with smartnav?
We also ship the product with an on-screen keyboard
Single action foot switch, which plugs into our hardware, and is controlled by out software is Single foot switch $30
For a USB foot switch, which is control by it's own software/firmware, it can be located here....

Pedal cost would depend on the type of switches you are going to use.How much that whole smartnav set will be costing for me ?,

Shipping cost would be dependent on your actual shipping address. Shipping and Handling does not include GST, Duties or other Taxes and fees that may be required by your country's customs. If imposed, the delivery agent will be required to collect these fees at the time of delivery. (Average cost of the fee's can be as much as 30% of the value of the item.)
If you want an exact shipping quote, please email sales @ naturalpoint.com, with your shipping address.
It usually ends up being cheaper to purchase it local.
We do not sell microphones, but any good quality microphone should be fine.sound recognition capable mic? but that is really an issue in another forum...

ok, my mistake.
i meant that clicking speed, i can't wait at all when i multi table in poker....
dwell could be too slow...
can i use two cheaper (30) pedals at the same time (first left click and second right click)? I read that those pedals have only one button.
that cost problem in finland is real deal.
smartnav costs here in the only shop i found it about 480 euroes + shipment 18 euroes (680$+25$) basic AT version. that is 700 dollars and without switch... that is madness
can it really be more than that with customs ???
if i order the product how long the shipment would take ?
2 weeks , month ?

Re: smartnav set for me
Yes you can have a pedal set up for a left click, and a right click - both can be plugged into the system at the same time.
Shipping usually takes about a week
I can't get you an exact cost on the price of the package, without knowing what all you want to order plus your exact shipping address -
Customs cost can be upwards of 30%.
