TrackIr4 broke off its base

Post by tarnsman »

Has this happened to anyone before? I was adjusting the feet of the base and the unit came off in my hand. The trackir broke from the base, I thought it would socket back on but its not made like that. I tried Krazyglue but no joy. What will bond this hard plastic back together? can the base be replaced?
Help.

Where would I find the serial number? I'm just asking in case I need to dig it out in the future.

It should be located on the end of the cable, near the USB plug, or on the underside of the device.

I had a similar issue with mine,

i broke one of the legs *cries*

tried contacting natural point about getting a replacement, or anything, asked even if i could get a swap out at cost price, or half price,

they said there was nothing at all they could do for me.

*cries again*

sticky tape i guess will be my only friend,

i love the product, just not the support.

I'm sorry you feel you did not get adequate support. If it was out of the hardware warranty period, ny hands are kinda tied. We just don't have the facilities to do repair work to the units, or the individual components to do repair work.

Arg i wish i got this sort of responce before, as it was only 9 months old when this happened, and now it is about a year and a half....

i was told because i live in australia that i should talk to the people i bought it off... now to me this isnt a viable option as they are just going to tell me to talk to natural point...

especially now that i have started using it again.. and i have a strange problem that i need to sit within a meter of the track ir for it to track me correctly... i have delt with the base being broken now.. that not a huge issue, as i can mount it fine ontop of my new lcd monitor... but considering that the tracking seems to have deteriorated severly, its a bit disapointing. i have set up my values in the tracking options correctly, telling it to just track certain sizes, and that help very little... what did help was puttin my wii IR bar ontop of my monitor as this puts out more IR then the pro4, but i have a feeling its just going to be that the reflection pads are not as good as they used to be..

any extra help would be great...

regards

Have you tried cleaning the trackclip, with some warm soapy water?
