Error message: cameradll.dll
Hi!
I have a little problem with my TrackIR 4. When I try to configure a profile having the heads view turned on, after a few seconds I get an error message (memory access violation) for the file cameradll.dll. Clicking OK on the error message causes the TrackIR software to stop running. What can I do? Any solutions to this?

What type of video card do you have installed?
What version of the drivers are installed?
Which version of the TrackIR software is installed?
What version of DirectX is installed?

My video card is a Geforce 8800 GTS, I am using driver version 97.92. DirectX is latest version (DirectX 9.0c, build 4.09.0000.0904) and the TrackIR Software is 4.1.030 Final from January 22, 2007.
Oh, I forgot. I don't know, if its the heads view that causes the problem. I just did not yet try to reproduce the error when the heads view is turned off and only tracking and gauges displays are visible. Sadly the error is not really reproducable for me, it may occur one time, the next time everyting is ok.

1 - Try updating the video card drivers to the latest driver version.
2 - Have you tried turn off any kind of power save feature for your USB ports?
In the "Device Manager" you can right click the "USB Hub"(s), that show, and then select properties. On the power management tab, uncheck the box that allows the computer to turn off the USB port to save power (i.e. uncheck the box). Sometimes that has an impact on the connectivity of the devices.

I have also been seeing application errors related to cameradll.dll.
The software version that was current when my TrackIR arrived was 4.1.029. I have been using that, reasonably trouble free since.
When 4.1.030(Final) arrived I updated immediately, but quickly received application errors, and downgraded back to 4.1.029 - The errors went away.
Again when 4.1.030 (Final B) came out, I again tried to upgrade. Again immediately I had 1 application error, but then things seemed stable for a week or so. Yesterday two more application errors - I've now downgraded back to 4.1.029, which again seems stable.
Some details (and most useful - text from the an application error recorded in the XP application event log) Version installed at that time was 4.1.030 Final B.
Windows XP SP2 - Windows updates to current
Mobo - Intel D975xbx (USB Power saving disabled)
Graphic Card Asus 7600 Top Silent - Driver Nvidia 9.71 (latest Stable)
DX 9.0c - (4.09.0000.0904)
TrackIR used with Condor soaring simulator - Patch 10(using full screen emulation mode).
I use both Track Clip Pro, and vector clip depending on situation. Not sure which was in use during previous errors - but yesterday it was the vector clip.

I'm now running on an upgraded system and still have an issue with application errors, but now no choice but to run 4.1.30(Final B) as the partition that I'm running Condor from runs Vista Ultimate. Occasionally the TrackIR s/w crashes The following event was logged

TrackIR device is on a motherboard USB port by itself (nothing attached to the other socket of that pair). Power saving turned off on the port.
System perfectly stable otherwise. System power should not be an issue - System PSU 600W.

OK, lets try one thing........
With the TrackIR software running. Right click on the windows task bar, and select the task manager -> Processes Tab -> Right click on the TrackIR listing, and select Set Affinity -> Then uncheck the box for CPU 1, then select OK.
If you try this, do you still get app. errors?
