Tim: I didn't read the other questions you asked, sorry.. oops!

My cameras are not setup in a circle, I have mine setup roughly in a rectangle, about 9 feet up in my garage... dimensions are about 18x15 or so, so my capture volume is about 9x7

Here's another sample of something I'm working on... captured with 6 cameras

I'll post some human examples here in a bit...

Tim:

Most of the file samples we have posted are with 8 cameras. The Boxing and Tennis ones are 8 cameras for sure. The I/ITSEC capture was done with 12 cameras.

Here's the same movement of the mouse, applied to a m3 character from DAZ, raw data from my 6 camera system

Okay, thanks! Very interesting, I was wondering what would happen if they were set up in an oblong fashion. Looks great--this is very exciting!--Tim

Agreed. Looks great. Question for Bryan, is this system (Optitrack) set up so that you could pose for the captures AND work the software yourself?

or did you need another person to control the program while you executed the motions in front of the cameras?

Tim and Koan:

Yep, I pose and capture myself... set the software to capture in about 15 secs or so... set myself up and go. then walk over and stop or set the timer to whatever I believe I need.

I would imagine that an oblong shape would work good, I don't see any reason why not... my setup is a little funny since I am not using tripods, but fixed wall mounts... so I've kind of distributed them in the space I have.. some on the walls, some on the ceiling... works well for me. Once I get the 2 more cameras though, I will be going to tripods, that way I can have 4 cameras capturing the floor to my midsection and the other 4 higher up...

If you need anything else, bvh files, whatever, just let me know...
