Thanks Vincent.

Step f.) Can't delete that folder at all because it says the.dll files are write protected????

Should I not use my DVD that came with TrackIR 4 Pro to re-install(same version 4.1 build 30)?

Thanks,
Ken

I was now able to delete those files.
TrackIR was still running. Sorry.

I will try to reinstall. I have done this before (but did not manually delete those program files after Add/removal Program).

I'll let you know asap.

Thanks,
Ken

I have reinstalled the drivers (there seemed to be a newer version than I had - the 'B' version) and made sure they didn't go into the Program Files folder (I'm on Vista) and also made sure that the shortcut properties had Run As Administrator checked.

And it works just fine.

To say that I'm pleased would be a masterpiece of understatement.

Thanks Vincent.

Reinstalled TrackIR 4 and I'm getting the same old bad actions.

The "heads" are all over the place. They jerk and cut down and fling all around. I have to invert the Yaw, Pitch and Y axis and it still jerks all over. Yes, it is set to TrackClip in the flight and default profiles etc, etc...
I do get the three green dots tracking nicely and the graphs are all moving smoothly in the tracking, but the heads and the in-game play is atrocious!

I feel there must be a default in this paticular device I just purchased as this is totally an unusable product at the moment Vincent.

I'm baffled, as others seem to be getting great results with the TIR Clip Pro (and my entire system is a newer high-end PC just for simming-FSX).

When you reinstalled, did you try a clean install, including deleting the TrackIR 4 folder?

Camera on the left side, as well as the trackclip pro?

the 3 green are fairly vertical, in the center of the tracking screen, with the middle one slightly offset?

The longer leg of the trackclip pro, is on the bootom?

No red on the tracking screen?

Well after some tinkering around...it seems to work now Vincent!

Albeit not any better at all (from what I can tell) over the original hat vector clip. I assumed a much smoother more controlled movement with the ProClip. Why produce such a plug-in USB device if the results are barely discernable over the other method?

If this is all I can get from this device...then I feel we (I) have been "duped" by your advertising promises to improve my "gaming experience" over the vector hat clip (which I already was happy with), with this newer and improved device.

Surely the results can be better Vincent?

Sincerely,
Ken

ps...the distributor here in Canada wants a 10% restocking charge and I must pay to ship/insure back to them, and I will also be out the original cost of shipping to me.
A total cost of over $30 lost! For nothing!
Hmmmmm?

The TrackClip Pro was designed as a replacement for the TrackClip, in that it no longer requires you to wear a hat, attaches to the side of a headset, which most people wear now a days, Uses direct IR leds, instead of depending upon the reflected IR light from the unit itself.......

Have to back Vincent up on that,Ken.

I never saw anything or considered this as anything more (or less) than a more convenient way of head tracking - by not having to wear the hat.

I really don't see how it can improve on looking around a screen - you look from left to right - how can that be improved upon?

Maybe you need to dabble a little with the smoothing etc in the profiles, as I will also have to, to get the best out of it. Surely that's not a big issue?
