for some reason when i load up my fs2004 in virtual cockpit mode, when i look at a specific direct, it shows me different directions/views. how can i fix that?

Could you be a little more specific?

What version of the TrackIR software are you using?

What version of Windows?

Looking at the Tracking screen, TrackIR software -> View -> Tracking, what do you see here? 3 green, any red?

I have the latest version that i got from your site and i have vista. when i run flight sim 2004 and activate my trackir, for some reason, when i want to look straight at the cockpit, my trackir turns to a way different view and so on.

Are you using the TrackClip Pro (attached to the left side of your headset, or the Vector clip (attached to the brim of a hat)?

Do you have TrackClip Pro, or vector selected in the different profiles (flight, default, etc.)?

Do you have invert selected in any of the profiles settings?

TrackIR software -> View -> Tracking, do you see three green dots here? Any red? Are they shaped like a triangle, or fairly vertical, with the middle one slightly offset?
