I have been using Track IR Pro with FSX + SP1 with no problems. After installing FSX Acceleration Pack which includes SP2 for FSX, I now have bad horizontal 'ripling' graphics when panning with the Track IR Pro. I have uninstalled the Acceleration Pack and all is OK again. I'm using Vista 32 bit and the Nvidia 8800 GTX graphics card. If I run FSX without using Track IR Pro, and pan using the joystick hat switch, I do not get this problem.
Any other Track IR Pilots out there using the FSX Acceleration Pack having this problem please ???
Graphic problems after installing FSX Acceleration Pack
Re: Graphic problems after installing FSX Acceleration Pack
What type of system are you running?
Do you have the DX10 options enabled within FSX?

Re: Graphic problems after installing FSX Acceleration Pack
Hi Vincent,
My system - O/S is Vista Home Premium Edition 32 bit, Intel Duo2 Core 6600 2.4Ghz 1066FSB, Western Digital 400Gb 16Mb Cache Hard Disk, Ge-Force 8800 GTX 768Mb PCie Graphics Card, 2Gb DDR2 667 Memory, NEC 20WGX2 PRO LCD Panel Display.
My DX10 option is enabled within FSX. As you know, the DX10 options box within FSX is automatically enabled when you install FSX Acceleration/SP2 if you have a DX10 Graphics card.
I have also tested with DX10 disabled by unchecking the DX10 box in FSX but the problem is still there. I have Nvidia's latest 8800 GTX Driver (169.25) and have also tried the previous two driver versions.
The jagged/ripple is very noticeable on the VC cockpit vertical glass frames when panning with Track IR Pro. (No jagged/ripple occurs when your head is stationary) Both Photo and standard FSX distant scenery seen beyond the cockpit frame is also affected, but not so noticeable. When I revert to FSX+SP1 only, I have no problems and Track IR Pro is very stable and runs perfectly.
Thanks Pete.

Re: Graphic problems after installing FSX Acceleration Pack
vsync turned on within the video card settings?
Re: Graphic problems after installing FSX Acceleration Pack
What frame rate are you getting?
Re: Graphic problems after installing FSX Acceleration Pack
I have looked in the Nvidia Control Panel under "Manage 3D settings" and under the Global Settings tab for 'Vertical Sync' it says "Use the 3D Application setting" (it states this for FSX+SP1 and with FSX Acceleration installed.)
I have the frame rate set to unlimited as I find this gives me very smooth Track IR, flight and scenery. The rate can vary between low 20s up to mid 70s. I would say the overall average is 30 to 35. If I set the frame rate to 30 it hovers around 30 most of the time. Frame rate results are the same for FSX+SP1 and FSX Acceleration.
Thanks again - Peter

Re: Graphic problems after installing FSX Acceleration Pack
Not sure why it would be different between SP1, and SP2...... as the TrackIR is still using SimConnect, and doesn't doin anything different.......
Re: Graphic problems after installing FSX Acceleration Pack
I'm not sure what simConnect is, but I assume it's how
TrackIR 'talks' to FSX and it should 'talk' to FSX Acceleration in the same way.
I have slowed down the hatswitch pan ( it was very fast) and the problem is actually there as well although not quite so bad. If I use the spacebar and mouse to pan horizontally the jagger problem is much worse than TrackIR of Hatswitch.
The 'jaggers' happen only during horizontal side to side movement, vertical movement seems ok. It looks like a graphics problem of some sort but FSX Acceleration must be upsetting things because every time I uninstall and revert back to FSX+SP1, things are ok. I think I will download and install just the SP2 update and not the Acceleration Pack and see if I get the same problems.
I will try some other FSX forums as well. Could you recommend any for this sort of problem ?
Thanks for your time so far - Peter
