Struggleing to get TrackIR setup

Post by DirtyHarry »

Hi, I just recently bought the TrackIR 4 proclip bundle. Installs fine, but problem is with the setup. I really am struggling to set the position of the proclip so that I get good movement in all directions.

I found this somewhat easier to do when using "vector" than "track clip pro". I usually get bizarre movements at the extremes of movement and also sometimes a particular movement axis gets "stuck" and cant move beyond a certain point.

I have tried looking on the net as to what the optimal position the 3 dots in the track pro clip should be in the tracking window but can find none.

Please help

Well since no one can offer any help... I am still struggling to get this to work. It works fine using the "vector" setting but not on "proclip". I have given up useing the proclip setting.

If you are using the TrackClip Pro (attached to a headset) then you need to have the TrackCLip Pro selected in the different profiles......

Looking at the Trackng screen, TrackIR software -> View -> Tracking, are the 3 green fairly vertical?

Center of the tracking screen?

In the settings screen, TrackIR software -> View -> Tracking -> Settings, do you have the rotation set to 0?

Camera LEDs off?

On the Profiles (default, flight, etc.), do you have any of the axes set to invert?

Hi Thanks for getting back to me Vincent.

Yes to all your questions. I have it set up like you said but it still doesn't work. I only use the "invert" options when using the "vector" setup because for some or other reason the movements seem inverted when using "vector".

As for the 4 dots. They are verticle, the top one slightly right, middle slightly left and bottom slightly right.

Basically when I turn my head side to side the movement I get is "rolling" to the left and right. Looking up and down works better, but not as good as when using the "vector" setup.

Forwards and backward movements seem fine.

I still use my track IR with LOMAC and F4AF and it works well, I guess I am just being difficult because its not working with the track clip pro.

You say 4 dots? There should only be 3?

OK, when using the TrackClip Pro, please select it in the profiles, and uncheck the options for invert.

When looking at the tracking screen, with the 3 green centered up. They should be fairly vertical, with the middle one slightly offset.

The TrackClip Pro is on the left side of your headset, with the long leg pointing down?

The TrackIR is positioned on the left side of the monitor?

TrackIR software -> View -> Tracking -> Settings. Do you have camera LEds checked, or unchecked? What is the rotation set to?

Just do what Vince said. And make sure the long arm is down.
