Some wierd motions in the upper arms

Post by nildo »

Guys...I'm Having a huge problem...

Whenever i export to bvh... the upper arms sometimes (alot actually) often will do a twisting motion...i spend most of the time actually trying to fix it in max (c studio)..either deleting keys or rotating to its correct position, but when i do this latter one..i have to rotate the hand also...prior to editing the rotation..the hand has a correct pose...

I want to add that the twisting motion only happens when the arms are pointing either straight down...or are at a relaxed pose...like the person is just standing...

One other thing...whenever im capturing...i have a pt2 file..as soon as i trajectorize..i get a pt3 that i can edit in the editor graph...but MOST of the time...this window is grayed out..i dunno why, sometimes is there (graph is opened)sometimes its not...

i sent an email attachment to support email please have a look..urgent

Hello,

We are still reviewing the data you sent yesterday. We can provide you with more detailed feedback after we have reviewed it further, but here are some initial comments.

Before you will be able to successfully export there appear to be some skeleton setup issues to resolve first.

We noticed that the head markers were higher than normal for the height of the skeleton, and that the shoulders were pushed back at an incorrect angle. We recommend reviewing each step in the skeleton wizard and checking the marker placement on your suit.

Possible issues :
- head markers may be too high
- the skeleton height may not be set correctly
- the neck marker may not be set correctly

It would also be helpful if you could send us your T pose pt2 data.

Hi nildo,

It looks like the skeleton's shoulders are not straight but pointing toward the back.

Can you try recreating the skeleton:
-During T-pose, stand straight with good posture, raise your arms horizontal and point them exactly to the side, not forward or backward.
-Place the top upper arm markers a few inches lower. They should be on the upper arms, not on shoulders.
-Enter accurate height info

Hello,

Thx for the input i'll try the suggestions, and i'll get back to you:)

I'll send some pictures of me wearing the suit with the markers attached...maybe that will help.

As far as the head markers being to high i don't see how that can be possible, they are on cap...and i followed the skel wizard correctly..."red markers right above the ears"...as for height info its 1.74m (my height)..and shoulder distance..44cm

Can u also please explain why is it that the editor window is sometimes grayed out (inaccessible)...it seems random...sometimes its available..but most of the time its not...and i make sure that the pt3 file is the one thats current...

thx

For editor window appearing to be inaccessible, you just need to slide the scrubber to a frame with visible 3D markers, and select them by clicking on it or by checkboxes to the right.

When the issue with the editor window occurs again, please send a screenshot of it not working to support@naturalpoint.com. Please also send a screenshot of it when it is working as you expect it to.

Thanks
