As stated I just got the IR4 today in the mail. I did a little quick reading of the manual, but couldnt stand it and fired up IL-2 '46 and jumped in. Quite the amazing difference indeed. It will take a little getting used to not moving my thumb around, and I can already tell this is a nice addition. I read Dart's page that got me hooked, so kudo's to him for the tip.
Everything seems to work OK, but was wondewring it there is a way to shorten the movement I need to make with my head for the movoements in the 'pit. Also Ive downloaded the software from the cd, is there a new patch or updates I don't know about?
Thanks for the great product, I've been looking for about two years and finally took the plunge.
PS, I'll be reading the Manual tonight, so if its in there please disregard.
New Owner of a IR4, any tips to get me going?

The cd that shipped should be the latest version of the software that we have posted.......
If you are looking at increasing the response time of the unit. You just need to increase the curves of the different software axis......
Section 5.3.4 Editing Profiles - of the manual.......
I do recommend making a copy of the profile you want to adjust, and working off of that one. Also make small changes, and then test it out......

Vincent, thanks for the reply, and yes I agree to make small changes and to save before "messing" with the settings. I had to reset to default after I got things buggered up at first, but got things loosely figured out now. ( I was up until midnight last evening as I couldn't stop messing with it.)
This device is truly amazing, and is a HUGE advancement in making things better for flight in the sim. I'm still configuring it to get a balance between speed and smoothness, which I'm getting a handle on a little at a time.
I've come to enjoy watching "Cy", my little robotic friend sit on top of my monitor helping me and being patient as I get this new contracption figured out. (OK, I might spend a little too much time in my office on the computer)
I'm already looking at upgrading to the track clip so I dont have to wear the hat, but it is working flawlessly at this point, so this would only be for comfort reasons.
Thanks for a top shelf product, and I havent even messed with the six degrees of motion, as IL-2 unfortunately dosen't support these. I'm still learning how to best set it up, but can tell already this was worth the money spent.
(Happy Birthday to mee!)
Thanks to all involved.
