After doing the happy dance that my new gadget had arrived, I did the installs of the software/drivers from the included CD (labeled Versuib 4.1.030 Windows 2000/XP) and did so as the Administrator. During install, I did get a warning that the drivers were "unsigned" (perhaps "uncertified"?) and continuing could be dangerous to my system and the space/time continuum. I was asked if I wish to continue or exit. Chose continue. Install proceded normally from there.
I placed the Track Clip Pro on my headset and plugged it into the USB port on the front of my box and plugged the USB headseat into the passthrough cable. No issues with that.
I then plugged the TrackIR into a powered USB hub. Got the "New Hardware, installing drivers" popup in the system tray, then after a 2 count, WHAMMO, a Blue Screen of Death. Immediately, the computer rebooted and I left the TrackIR still plugged in. Crossing both my fingers and my left inside toes provided no luck as I got the BSOD again after the desktop appeared and Vista started connecting to the USB devices.
I unplugged the TrackIR and got a normal reboot.
"Drivers must be 'fouled'", I thought and uninstalled the software, downloaded the version listed on the support page, ran as admin and installed. Same BSOD occured when the TrackIR was plugged into the USB hub.
Something in the system is not agreeing with the TrackIR device as it crashes my system nearly instantly each time I plug it into any USB socket. I have yet to get this to work and so want it to!
Please email back or post a suggested fix or provide me with a contact name and phone number. Thanks!!!!
