i just tried track ir out in f4:af and it didn't work well at all- track ir movement was erratic, moving around when i wasn't even moving my head, not following my motions reliably, and moving far too quickly. this happened in both 2d and 3d. i'm going to read through the usermanual tomorrow, but can anyone give me some advice about how to set up the track ir to work well? i don't have much experience with it.
i have the track ir (3rd version i am pretty sure) on top of my monitor, and i'm using the naturalpoint cap turned backwards, with three reflective stickers on the clasp. i also tried it with the cap on forwards, with just the sticker on the front of the cap. the stickers are old, about 2 years, if that even matters.
i don't have any other light sources shining directly into the track ir.

Re: general question about how to optimize performance
just tried not using the cap and instead putting a dot on my forehead and got much much better results. still, i would like to make it more responsive in terms of left and right motions. i can only see to my 3 and 9 o'clock when i crane my head, so i would like to get more motion with less side to side head movement, so taht i can see 4,5,7, and 8 o'clock.
what's the best way to do this?

Re: general question about how to optimize performance
I would recommend taking a look in the manual..
