Regarding non-commercial TrackIR development

Post by Miki »

Hi!

I am a student at Aalborg University and my group and I would like to use TrackIR 4 in a project. The people at the institute offered to buy it for us seeing as they could see a use for it in other projects as well, only they asked me to check out how much work it would be to get useful input for an application and frankly Im a bit lost.

It seems we have to use the OptiTrack SDK, however at the OptiTrack homepage theres nothing mentioned about TrackIR no sample code or anything using TrackIR, as far as I can tell.
So, I guess I would like to see some sample code using TrackIR 4 if possible, or maybe if someone would just give me a few pointers it would be great.

Any help is much appreciated :)

Best regards Miki

The free baseline OptiTrack SDK can be used with SmartNav, TrackIR and OptiTrack cameras. Official SDK support is only provided for OptiTrack cameras. We include the ability to use the OptiTrack SDK with TrackIR cameras as an unsupported bonus.

The code to interface with the cameras is the same for all of them aside from minor feature variations.
