TrackIR doesn't detect FSX after game reinstall

Post by ice_the_dice »

I play Microsoft Flight Simulator X and several other games that use TrackIR. After I reinstalled FSX with SP1 & SP2, TrackIR doesn't seem to work. The blue light on the bottom doesn't light up and I check the TrackIR window and it doesn't detect the game running, but it detects all my other games just fine and the blue light comes on and it tracks okay. Any suggestions?

What version of the software are you running?

What version of Windows?

Have you done a clean install of the software using the latest beta version?

Remove the TrackIR software by doing the following:
a. Click "Start"
b. Click on the "Control Panel"
c. Click "Add/Remove Programs"
d. Find "TrackIR" and click "Change/Remove"
e. Once launched it will give the option to completely remove it.
f. Delete the NaturalPoint folder at the following location, C:\Program Files\NaturalPoint
g. Download and reinstall the software from the following location,

Version 4.1.034 beta 2

Yep did all that already... Got regular Windows XP 32bit and I am using TrackIR 4 PRO version 4.1.030 B Final. I might have a theory but I'm not sure how to fix. I think it is the SimConnect.xml document. I read on Natural Point's troubleshooting pages that this document is easily fixable by downloading FSUIPC but when I download it, it wont install due to this same document being different. I tried rolling back to SP1 before installing. Any suggestions?

P.S. sorry I didn't reply immediately, was busy lately.

Update: I just tried installing the Beta Patch 2 for TrackIR and it did the trick thanks guys.
