Trackir doesnt recognise FS2004

Hi ...problem

I have recently purchased a new system with Vista Home Premium.

Installed FS2004 and Trackir, but now Trackir does not recognise
FS2004.

On the front screen it says current game "none". The green indicator light on but the blue one is not. Trackir is receving
data but obvoiusly not transferring it to the game.

I have read the similar post further down and run Trackir with
as many programs as I can shut down. I have even uninstalled Norton !

I have re-installed trackir countless numbers of times without success either.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried running both applications as an admin?

Make sure you have the standard language.dll installed with FS2004. Some custom versions of the DLL remove strings required by TrackIR.

Ensure that the notification messages in FS2004 are turned on. The notifications appear in the upper right corner in red when switching to the virtual cockpit. The setting is found in your fs9.cfg file located by default in:

c:\Documents and Settings\\Application Data\Microsoft\FS9
[Main]
HideInfoText=0

Yep it was the notification message that did it.

I recently installed Wideview and you can configure it
to turn them off.......Brilliant.
