TrackIR software stopped working

My TrackIR has worked fine for several months until about half an hour ago. I have used the software that was on the disc.

There was a delay between my head movement and the movement in-game while playing LOCK ON so I changed the priority to High on it in the Task Manager. I have done that several times before but it keeps going back to Normal after restart. Anyway, it didn't make it much better so I decided to restart the computer. When it started, the TrackIR icon was not in the list beside the clock in the lower right corner of the screen. I tried opening TrackIR from the start menu but nothing happened. When I check the Task Manager it sais "TrackIR.exe" is running but icon missing as mentioned and the device's LEDs are not on, only one blue blinking LED at center bottom of it. I have tried unistalling and installing latest software from this website but it was the same problem.

It's appearently running but I can't access it. Not possible to open the TrackIR control panel or use the device. Something has gone wrong in the software I'm sure. Is there maybe way to edit in registry to fix this or where might the problem be?

Are you running any Anti-virus/Firewall software?

In the following folder location, C:\Program Files\NaturalPoint\TrackIR4\Profiles, what is the file size for each profile?

Have you made any changes to the system recently?

Have you tried the TrackIR on another system?

No anti-virus or firewall.

I have it uninstalled now so there are no profiles there.

No changes.

Not tried it on another system.


I would like to try to remove all traces of it and then try to re-install.

So far I have:
1. Uninstalled it.
2. Removed its folder.

What else should I do?

I searched the registry and found a folder or something called "naturalpoint", deleted it, reinstalled the latest software and it works!
