when starts up, usually smooth for a few seconds up to a few minutes - when it works, its great - smooth tracking and good FPS, but then just gets laggy and eventually FSX will freeze up.

I tried unplugging wireless USB adapter, no joy.

Not sure what else to try

Vincent,

Another thought occurred to me after scouring the web - I am using NVIDIA GTX 8800 video card. There are some reports of difficulty with FSX, but others have had better luck with the latest driver. I still get the stutters - even rolled back driver with no luck. Are you aware of any known conflicts?

There is something up with FSX, but not sure why my system has problem when some do not. FS9 works pretty well. FSX works for a bit then and the stutter - it's like trying to find that rattle in your car - maddening....

as always, I do appreciate your help

Do you recommend starting the TIR software before running FSX, or rather wait until a flight loads and then go to windowed mode, jump out of FSX, load TIR, and then jump back into FSX?

Or should it not make any difference?

Load TrackIR, then load FSX for 2 reasons.

1 - It allows the TrackIR to detect the FSX application starting

2 - FSX hates not being the center of attention, and always seems to crash when switching to other application (for me anyway)
