calibration issues

Post by haim96 »

hi again...

have some more questions, this time on calibration process.
i go thru the process as the movie explain but i notice that
in the movie the default is 300 data point and it's increased
to 500 data point.
in the latest ARENA version the default is only 100 data points.

Q: should i incread it to 500 or 200? or mybe leave it 100?

any way, in my first test with the new ARENA version i increased
to 200 data points, at the end of the caculation i got all of my
8 camera "Excellent".

Q: since english is not my main language, is this better
then "great"? what is the best result should i expect to?

at the end of calibration, when i check the capture volumes, i get the result as describe in the next image. is this good?
the movie show volumes with overlap between cameras...

Image

and last one, in the calibration movie, the four upper cameras don't "see" the three floor markers. as you can see in my next image this is not the case for me. should i adjust the four upper cameras a little highr?

thanks in advance for any help!

i forgot to mention some information that you mey need to know:

my room is 5.5 X 5.5 meters.
the cameras installed at almost 2.8 meters and 1.5 meters high.
i use 8 - V100 cameras.
latest version of ARENA.
computer Q6600, 2.4GHZ cpu with 2GB ram.

Hello,

Q: should i incread it to 500 or 200? or mybe leave it 100?
With the latest version of Arena, we only select good frames for calibration, so it is usually not necessary to increase it, unless the program prompts you to do so.

Q: since english is not my main language, is this better
then "great"? what is the best result should i expect to?
"Excellent" is the best calibration result, next is "Great", then "Good", "Fair" and "Poor".

Q: should i adjust the four upper cameras a little highr?
It is not necessary for all cameras to see the ground plane markers, by pointing 4 high cameras a little higher, your capture volue will be taller. There must be good overlap among all cameras though. Otherwise the calibration will fail. We are woking on new calibration method without this limitation.
