We are getting ready to set up our 8-camera system in a new lab space.
Is there anything that we can do to the space to help the OptiTrack do its job? Also, will the system tolerate items along the walls (e.g., small workstations, bookshelves) in the tracking area (i.e., in the same room but outside the capture space)?
Thanks.

Re: Tracking area
I don't intend to hijack your thread, but I have a question that is similar and and definitely relates and could be answered in general terms about capture space.
I am looking at using a school gymnasium to some captures and was wondering if the lighting and general openness of the space would present problems for an 8 camera setup.
Thanks.

Re: Tracking area
Generally the main issues is going to IR light either being generated by object, or reflecting of of surfaces.
jsonedecker - the main issue with your setup maybe the floor itself, as they tend to be highly reflectivew, and so the cameras might be seeng themselves. We have had to lay down a floor mat to help with our testing room, due to the floor reflecting light back up at the cameras.
Hirittu - generally objects against the wall, or outside of the capture volume are fine, unless they are generating, or reflectingf IR light back at the cameras themselves.

Thanks Vincent.
Once the floor is taken care of, then the openness and lighting shouldn't be an issue?

Hi all.
My idea for our system was to set it up in the gym at our school but what i did learn that when the sun came up it changed the performance of the system. So if you dont have the problem of big windows or you can close most of the sunrays out, then you can use this cool system
