TrackIR and TrackClip is "nervous" under FS2004

Post by NaviGabor »

Most of the time I enjoy my new addition to FS, but sometimes, especially when deflections get bigger the viewpoint in FS2004 starts to jump around and get into extreme positions. The interesting thing is, that when I look at the heads in the TrackIR software (ver 4.1.34) the movement is smooth. The view in FSX also follows the movement nicely.

What shall I change to get it stable?

I continued to experiment and fount the problem. Looking simultaneously to the heads and to FS showed, that the heads were also jumping. A look at the tracking window revealed, that the metal arch of my headphone produced false reflections. Thanks fot the good diagnostic tools!

Lately I'm experiencing that my TrackIR is picking up a lot of body heat. No, I'm not pale white which could probably cause a reflection. I can't even fly in FS2004 during day time because I'm either too warm or I might reflect the sun or something. Is there any way to do a bigger light filter than 100%?

How far away from the camera are you sitting?

Can you send me a screen shot of your tracking screen?
