TIR4 is RIP

Post by Paulo »

After some issues in the initial installation with some USB conflicts (more then a year ago), TIR4 has been working with no problems. Last time i use it was 2 months ago. Since then the device has been kept in a drawer in my desk. Yesterday i've decided to use it again in a racing simulator, and although i still had the drivers and software installed, the device was never detected.

After i uninstall and reinstall the latest drivers and software, still the same message from TIR software : No device detected !

When i plug the USB cable, the hardware wizard doesnt appear.
Also, the blue light doesnt work. My OS is XP sp3.

I also have Vista in dual-boot, so i tried all this in vista. Same result. It seems that theres no communication with the system.

Any suggestion?

Thanks.

Have you tried the device on another system?

Are you plugging in directly to the system, or are you using a hub?

Have you tried isolating the device on the USB ports?

Have you tried turn off any kind of power save feature for your USB ports?

In the "Device Manager" you can right click the "USB Root Hub"(s), that show, and then select properties. On the power management tab, uncheck the box that allows the computer to turn off the USB port to save power (i.e. uncheck the box). Sometimes that has an impact on the connectivity of the devices.
