Is this Supported: Non-Mouselook View Systems

Post by MonkeyLord »

does trackIR2 support this?

Say a game does not support free mouselook... but instead has locked fields of view: forward, forward left, left, back left, forward left up, left up, etc. etc...

Is there a software feature in TrackIR2 that will allow certain points on the movement axis to emulate keystrokes, or directx input from the view hat?

TIR does not support this directly but there is rumor of third parties developing a "TIR key mapper" that will do exactly what your saying.

Maybe someone "In the Know" will post on this thread and give us the scoop.

Oh, I certainly hope so.. I REALLY want to use TrackIR, but I fly in WWII Online the most... which doesn't currently have a free mouselook, only the POV presets. In fact, this is the ONLY thing that is preventing me from purchasing TrackIR this very instant.

I'm hoping that WW2 Online will allow mouselook in the cockpit. Since they already have it with the troops I am somewhat suprised when I found out it doesn't have this feature in the aircraft.

I have just rejoined WW2online again and im really considering dropping out from it again after only 1 month of play due to it not supporting TIR use or at least mouse view use in the planes cockpits, it also doent seem to be high on there list of things to add.

Heres hopeing they get it in sooner or later

If "Someone" could figure out how to do this, the whole CFS crowd would be on the IRtracker2 bandwagon like a USC fan. CFS3 makes us use the joystick POV Hat. They have a floating eyeview command that moves the POV (smooth pan) and leaves it where ever the POV Hat stops. I would kill for some sort of workaround to use IRtracker2 in CFS3. I just got mine and last night fired up IL2FB and damn near gave myself vertigo......it was SO cool.

Okay, I've found a thread with a clear answer... and it works!

http://forums.naturalpoint.com/cgi-bin/ ... 017#000000.

This little program TiR Attack was the answer..
it pokes into the game code and activates the TrackIr in CFS3..... it took a few tries .. but Presto!

Here is the download address ..

Hi all,

I think the kind of thing you are looking for can be found here: http://www.naturalpoint.com/trackir/04- ... ities.html

It is called Trackmapper and I used it for a while with CFS2 to some limited effect - eventually I gave it up as it is not ideal. But with patience you might find it works for you.

There is a video of it working with WWIIOnline available here - along with the software downloads, etc.: http://kaf.tri6.net/trackmapper/

All the best,

Pads
