Help

Post by Bone »

I have FS9, FSX sp1, and FSX Acceleration all set up on my machine. They all three worked properly with TrackIR4 up until I updated the TrackIR4 driver. Now FSX sp1 won't utilize head tracking, even though the TrackIR system says it is tracking properly. The LED lights are on and I have checked the dummy head in the TrackIR menu, and the sytem is working.

FS9 and FSX Acell both respond with head tracking, it's just the sp1 version that won't. I tried going back to the old driver, and did clean installs of both FSX versions, but I'm still not getting head tracking in sp1.

The standard, and SP1 , editions of FSX can have issues in regards to the SimConnect components of FSX, and external 3rd party hardware.

OK, one step to try.

1 - Delete the following file folders

C:\WINDOWS\WinSxS\x86_Microsoft.FlightSimulator.SimConnect_67c7c14424d61b5b_10.0.60905.0_x-ww_429211e9

C:\WINDOWS\WinSxS\x86_Microsoft.FlightSimulator.SimConnect_67c7c14424d61b5b_
10.0.61234.0_x-ww_085e3cdd

2 - Insert the FSX CD, and run the repair utility. Basically we are looking to reinstall the folder.

3 - Hopefully this should remedy the issue.

Thanks for getting back to me. I tried to delete the three sim connect files, but Vista would not allow me to do it, even with UAC disabled. I gave up on it and played FS for awhile, and now I'm getting a "no Data" prompt on the TrackIR menu window.

OK, if you are running in Vista, then the folders can't be deleted.

as for no data, are you using the Trackclip (metal clip) or TrackClip Pro?

I'm using the TrackIR4 with the metal track clip. When I first turn on TrackIR the green light at the top of the IR device comes on, but then it goes out and the No Data appears. The four red LED's stay on, though. After I turn off TrackIR, the green light will flash on every five seconds or so, but dimmer.

Connected directly to the PC, or using a hub?

Have you tried moving USB ports?

Vector selected in all the different profiles?

When looking at the Tracking screen, what do you see here?

I moved it to another USB port, and it didn't work. I've got it plugged into my monitors USB port, so I went ahead and pulled the USB main plug from my rig and back in, then it started working. Still no luck in FSXsp1, but the other sims are utilizing it. Thanks for the help.
