I have sent two email to trackirsdk@naturalpoint.com to get information how to get this developers kit. Is it really so difficult to answer those posts?
Simply no is enough if I can't get it.
Free Developers Kit
Re: Free Developers Kit
Hello:
I have received your emails, but have been queing them up as we are right in the middle of developing a new SDK.
Because we have released new hardware, the TrackIR2, we need to have a new SDK, one that is much better than our old one, but the development cycle has been taking longer than we had hoped.
So, at this point we aren't promising any release dates, just that we will have a new SDK out shortly. We estimate that it will be no longer than 60 days from now. It will be worth the wait.

Re: Free Developers Kit
Hi. What I would also like would be some kind of developer mailing list or such to keep current on new features etc that could be implented in already existing simulations.

Re: Free Developers Kit
Hello:
I think that is a great idea. I will run it by Birch.
Remember, we have 2 seperate "developer items". One is our SDK, which allows for direct control and use of the image data, this is for people developing unique applications. The second is the TrackIR Enhanced SDK, which is used to get the absolute positioning of the dot. Just wanted to clarify.

Re: Free Developers Kit
Hi, we bought a Smart Nav a couple of months ago for a custom development, but then I noticed that the SDK did not come with the product.
I have seen in the Forum That you are developing a new SDK, but actually I think I have the old hardware version (how can check?). So, would it be posible meanwhile to get a copy of the old version of the SDK, until the new is ready?.
Sincerely
Christian

Re: Free Developers Kit
Please email trackirsdk@naturalpoint.com for more information about developing with the TrackIR.
Because we have two seperate development kits, please be sure to explain what your project is so that we can select the correct SDK for you.
TrackIR gaming / enhanced mode SDK : This is used for integrating the TrackIR with games/simulations, it provides access to the TrackIR in Enhanced mode (positioning data). In order to use this you must be registered with NaturalPoint. It is available now.
General purpose development SDK : This is the general purpose non-gaming SDK. It is used for developing industrial, commercial and research applications which utilize NaturalPoint hardware. The old version of the SDK does not work with the current TrackIR drivers or hardware, it is not available for download or use. A new version of the SDK is in the works and we hope to announce a release schedule soon, however it is not available to the public right now. We are currently keeping a list of requests for the new development kit and will be sending out a notice when it is ready.

Borka,
Please send an email to:
trackirsdk@naturalpoint.com
Include in your email a brief synopsis of what you are planning or how you want to use the TrackIR. This way we can let you know if there are any things in particular to look out for and/or assist you with.
